How popular is your blog in market? I have explained all the possible steps for branding blog. The money and time spent on blog branding never gets wasted.

1. What your Blog is about?
First make sure on what you are going to write. Don’t produce articles in a wide range of topics. Be precise while selecting the blog topic. My topic is somewhat wide but covered under online marketing tips.

If I say Greeting Cards, immediately you will think of 123greetings.com. If I say online videos, immediately you will think of you tube. I hope you got the idea. But this is not the matter of 1 or 2 months. It takes time.

2. Have a Unique Style!
Don’t imitate other bloggers. Fix yourself with a writing style. This may help users to identify you if they read your content in some other place.

3. Design Importance
Obviously design plays vital role in branding. Technical blogs can have professional theme and Fun blogs can have colored fun themes. It’s advisable to have a unique premium theme. If you cannot spend even a small amount for design like me, then go with free good looking themes. Good design blogs will get the visitors attention easily.

4. Have an attractive logo
Having a logo in blog is advisable. Use your logo in top left corner, because that’s the place where visitors will look for the blog information. Use your logo in other sites while you get link from them.

5. Use Favicon
Favicon is also a prominent factor in branding. It will be fine if you can have the same logo as Favicon. If can’t just pick the first letters and have.

6. Social Media Optimization
Optimize your website for Social Media Websites. The process of making websites Search Engine Friendly is called Search Engine Optimization. The process of making websites Social Media friendly is called Social Media Optimization.

How to make the website Social Media Sites friendly? Optimize your post pages with social media buttons like sphinn it, digg it, stumble it, buzz etc. This will help user to save your pages in their favorite social media sites.

Some SEOs may not recommend this. This makes you hard to rank in SERP for post topic, since your social media URL will rank for this. But for beginners, it’s necessary to drive traffic and make the blog popular.

7. Link to your social media networks

You may use twitter, Mybloglog, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, face book etc. Give links to your profile page of the corresponding social network sites in your blog. It will help users to know more about you and your blog.

8. RSS and E-Mail Subscriptions

You have to be very careful while commenting on other blogs. Following issues may hurt your brand among readers.

6. ’Anonymous’ Flaming
7. Always Being First To Comment
